Junior badminton sessions
LCWBC junior badminton training and lessons started in 2018.
Our weekly lessons are catered for boys and girls of all playing levels or badminton experience. The course is designed to enable our young players to learn the basics and enjoy badminton through a series of fun games, based on vital areas of agility, balance, co-ordination, movement and racket skills.
Our lessons are held during school term only. Each lesson typically includes (i) agility training/exercise, (ii) technical aspect (shot techniques, footwork, practice drills) and (iii) social play or games.
We welcome children aged 8 to 18 of all playing experience. Children aged 6-8 years who have some playing experience are also encouraged to join us but may be asked to attend first lesson to check suitability.
We also hold regular sparring sessions (games) when there are no training sessions.
Our junior players have participated and won medals at London Youth Games (see more below), Badminton England circuit tournaments (Gold, Silver, Bronze), junior competitions in the surrounding counties (Kent, Essex and Middlesex) and National Junior competitions.
