2nd LCW Badminton Tournament 2010
|
Format of tournament:
1) Each team will play in doubles matches based on 21 points system.
2) Each team will play in round robin against other teams within their respective group for 1 game each. Each team will therefore play at least 2 games in their group. The order/schedule of play is provided below.
3) Each team will be ranked 1st to 3rd in their group based on the number of games won out of the 2 games played. 2 teams ranked 1st and 2nd of their group will proceed to Quarter-Final (last 8 of the knock-out stage).
In the event of ties, the ranking will be determined based on net points won i.e. total points scored, net of points against. In an unlikely event of another ties, a tie break of 5 points will be played between the teams to determine their group ranking.
4) Top 2 teams of their group will play in Quarter-Final as follows:
Q1: Winner of Group A vs Runner-up of Group B
Q2: Winner of Group C vs Runner-up of Group D
Q3: Winner of Group B vs Runner-up of Group A
Q4: Winner of Group D vs Runner-up of Group C
5) Winners of Quarter-Final will play in Semi-Final as follows:
S1: Winner of Q1 v Winner of Q2
S2: Winner of Q3 v Winner of Q4
6) The winners of the Semi-Final will play against each other in the Final for the best of 3 games in order to determine the eventual Champion and Runner-up.
7) Please arrive on time, preferably before 10.00 am so that we can start promptly. All matches will be completed within the court time. In the event of early finish, court time will be used for usual badminton sessions.
8) This is a social event and we are a group of individuals getting together to play badminton for fun. Refer to our standard terms provided in FAQs.
9) Please respect your fellow partner/other teams during games and avoid causing injury or racquet damage. Whilst this is named a tournament, the aim is really to promote sportmanship and enhance the level of play at our club, and most importantly to have fun!
